Harrow Way Community School continues to sustain its strong performance with the 2010 GCSE and other Key Stage 4 results. Staff and students are celebrating the end of a record year for the school which has seen its improvements recognised nationally, its CVA score ranked 12th in Hampshire and an Ofsted inspection which rated the school as ‘good with many outstanding features’.

Results received in school so far indicate that 63% of students achieved five GCSE’s or equivalent Avada.zip to C passes across the school with 45% achieving five GCSE’s or equivalent Avada.zip to C, including Maths and English. Every student achieved a GCSE pass in both English and Maths, further evidence of the inclusive approach of the school.

Headteacher Charlie Currie said: “Every year group is different, with different skills and aptitudes and I am delighted with our students’ achievements and especially that every student left with a minimum of a GCSE pass in both Maths and English. The school’s performance has been formally recognised recently by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, and last year was ranked 12th out of all the schools in Hampshire for the progress our students make. These newly published results demonstrate that our students have achieved very well, which is testament to their hard work and the excellent teaching we have here at Harrow Way.”
Charlie Currie concludes: “All teaching and support staff together with Governors are committed to ensuring that each and every Harrow Way student achieves their best. Our enrichment programme and other resources and opportunities in the school also ensure students leave as well-rounded young adults ready for the next stage of their lives.”
